As the title suggests, we didn't get dressed today. We did puzzles, watched Christmas specials, played with trucks and cleaned up the outside toys so they can play with them inside. We ate and read books, did laundry and colored. It was a long day but a good one to be inside. The air quality was poor and I didn't feel like getting a sore throat or exposing the boys to the pollution and smoke. Apparently there are farmers burning their fields which adds to the smog. Thanks for the info, Anna! We knew when we decided to move here that this would be an issue and we would have to work around it. We are doing that but it certainly will be nice to get home to Nova Scotia and clean, fresh air. I hope it always stays that way.
After a slow week we will have a busy weekend with guests tomorrow evening and Saturday. I am really looking forward to it for that reason but also because on Saturday I will venture out on my own for some shopping and browsing. I LOVE going off by myself. It sounds a little selfish but I enjoy being on my schedule and deciding what I want to do on the fly and without answering to anyone. Two years ago I went to New York City for four days with my mom and aunt. While I was there I celebrated my birthday and for it I roamed around in the rain all day by myself. It was awesome! That's not to say that I don't ever like shopping with other people. I do very much. But once in a while I need to feel the freedom I get when I roam around a city all alone. It liberates me.
So, it will be another quiet day tomorrow with ayi and Lena coming. Hopefully the air will be better and we can get back outside. Even though we are having company for supper I don't have to cook. We are ordering food and bringing it in. I am so tired of cooking I don't want to make anything. Good thing there's lots of great takeout here. Have a great day everyone!
Yes we do have lots of fresh air here in Nova Scotia and I also hope that never changes. It's easy to get 'shack fever' when it is difficult to get outside. Sounds like you had a very relaxing day which is nice for you and the boys. I also like to do some things by myself. I don't like boxes and sometimes I feel like I am boxed in. Nothing creates anxiousness in me any faster. I'm not sure if I would like shopping in an unfamiliar city by myself but you have certainly traveled enough to get comfortable with new surroundings. Ellery, Mom and I are going to the Hubtown Theatre production tonight which should be fun. I went to Yoga today and did some things around the house. It was another beautiful day. ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a very relaxing day Jan, I love PJ days. Soon you will be home and enjoying our clean fresh air. Great that you get the chance to do some things by yourself, I know you love to roam around and be independent, and it is nice not to have to answer to anyone once in a while.
ReplyDeleteI went to the dentist this morning, I had to have a crown done. I must say it wasn't as bad as I feared. But I am glad it is over, now I just have to wait for the lab and it will be finished.
It was another beautiful day here in Truro, I hope we have some more on the way.
