This is going to be a rather short post because I can hardly keep my eyes open. I think I would have adjusted to the time change by now if the kids would let me. Ryan is still getting up at 4:30 and this morning Nick woke up at the same time, still with a fever, and threw up when I gave him Tylenol. He felt better after so I gave him some more and he slept until almost nine. Ryan never went back to sleep though so I have been up since then. We couldn't go anywhere today (not even for breakfast!) because Nick didn't even want to get dressed so we just stayed here in the hotel room and played cards and read books. It was nice though, once I resigned myself to the fact that I wouldn't be going anywhere until Tim got home. We just ordered room service again and chilled.
Once Tim did get home from his first full day of work I took off and went to IKEA and Metro. All I can say about that is "Andy, when are you coming over?". There is lots of stuff to make an already nice apartment even nicer, but I have no vision for that sort of thing. I have been authorized by the landlady to buy two lamps for our bedroom, a vacuum cleaner and an oven. She will reimburse us for these as they are supposed to be supplied. So I searched around but didn't buy any of that stuff since I figure we might as well wait until we are actually in the apartment instead of lugging things into the hotel and storing them here. It looks like we will be moving later this week. That means we will only be in the hotel for a little over one week; not too shabby at all!
Tim enjoyed his first day of work, despite feeling awful with a cold, but like so many first days you don't really get into the nitty gritty of things right away. I hope he will like it here as I think we will enjoy our three years in this city. There is so much to see that I have a hard time not trying to do it all right away. I forget that we have only been here one week and we have a lot longer to go.
Tomorrow we go to apply for our residency permits which will get us one step closer to receiving our shipment of goods. I have a feeling that's going to look like Christmas all over again.
I think that's about all I have for tonight. Maybe we will all get a good sleep tonight and have a little more excitement tomorrow.
Even the uneventful us interesting to read. Hope everyone is better real soon and you all get back to exploring.
