Yesterday after I posted the blog the kids and I headed outside to go for a walk in the park. This is the one that runs along the river and we can see from our bedroom windows. Well, we never made it there. All through the complex that we live in, called Eastern Venice (about 20 - 25 apartment buildings), there are play areas, bridges, fountains (that don't have water in them yet) and gardens. There is just too much to see and play on between our place and the park. Perhaps the favorite area is one that has a large play structure with three slides and other little things to climb on. I especially like this one because right beside it there is one of the grown up playgrounds I mentioned in a previous post. Actually, throughout the complex there is more adult than kid equipment but that's okay, we need to play more than they do!
Ryan also managed to find a payloader and other interesting modes of transportation. You never know what you might see here. Our water delivery "truck" is a guy with five water jugs (the 20L ones) strapped on to the sides and front of his bike. I will try to get a picture if I can catch him. I'm not sure what they deliver the mail with.
Again today we made an attempt to get to the park to no avail. The play areas are just too much for the kids to resist. This weekend we are going to go see some touristy sites and try to do a little more shopping. We also want to try again to get to the park as there is a lot of kite flying to be done and bumper boats too! We'll have to see if we can coax the kids onto those.
It was a beautiful, sunny but windy day here but it was really lovely. This evening I am going to try to get to the Carrefour just down the street since we are running out of food. Hopefully I get there! It's so hard to get anywhere with the kids.
Here are some pictures. Have a great Friday everyone!

| This is one of the grown up play structures. The kids love them too! |
 |
| Even this little (and I stress little) guy liked it. Well, I think he did. He was shivering, but maybe he was just cold. |
 |
| One of the fountain pieces. |
 |
| This made him happy. |
 |
| Nick can really get the thing going. |
 |
| I'm not sure what they deliver/pick up with this one. |
 |
| This is the sandbox right outside our building. I think it didn't even have any cat poop in it. Hooray! |
Jan, great to have a playground in your back yard so to speak. The boys must be thrilled with all that play equipment. Ryan would be excited to see the loader. It was great to see and talk to you and Ryan last night. Tell Nick I will catch up with him one of these days.
ReplyDeleteYou guys have a great evening and enjoy your week end exploring.
Love to all
Hi Jan, Looks like there are lots of things to do and see right outside your door. I will make sure Stefan sees the loader, Ryan. It looks awfully big beside you or you look awfully small. Great photo, Nick of you playing on the equipment. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteWow! Looks fun.
